Periyar Wildlife Tour
Periyar, is located in Kerala which is recognized as one of the best-known wildlife sanctuary in south India. This park is spread in an area of 777sq.km and is famous for tiger reserve. While coming here you will get to see 100-year-old artificial lake and its setting in the beautiful location of the forest. Here in this reserve you will get an opportunity to see 700 elephants and is dwelling place of more than 40 species.
This is not your best shot at spotting the Bengal Tiger Though billed as tiger reserve, so while coming here you will you will get seeing other animals like the Nilgiri langoor, bison, deer, antelope Nilgiri.
The Periyar Tiger Reserve consists of tropical evergreen and due to it perfect flora and fauna it got declared a Project Tiger Reserve in 1978.
The Flora & Fauna in the Periyar National Park which has deeper valleys contain tropical evergreen forest. Moreover, the Periyar sanctuary Kerala is spread out across the park where Langur and Bonnet Macaque Nilgiri Tahr, which is rarely to be seen can be seen here.
You will visit here you will see 22 species of fishes, 49 species of mammals, 246 species of birds, 28 species of reptiles, 112 species of butterflies 8 species of amphibians, and. The core area is 350 sq.kms and due to these beauties the place is considered as one of the best wildlife sanctuaries in India for bird watching, wildlife photography, tiger and elephant herds watching.
